Course Overview
The professional focus of this International Events Management course at Manchester Metropolitan University, at operational and strategic level, gives you a range of opportunities to engage with the events industry and you will develop expertise in planning and managing different events. You have the opportunity to undertake a 36-48 week internship as part of your study. Features and benefits of the course, The opportunity to plan and implement your own -live event- strategy and project, Work with a local event industry employer to develop your professional event skills, An external array of field trips and activity/visits and guest lectures from industry event practitioners as part of the curriculum design, Throughout your studies, you will engage in a range of individual, group work and consultancy projects, working with an array of event industry partners and clients, Volunteering is a great way for you to gain experience and make contacts. We have a vast range of volunteering opportunities within the Faculty to develop your Internship opportunity: Placement options, Internships / Placement Options: You will be offered the chance to undertake a 36-48 week internship supported by our Placement Office, who have extensive contacts with industry and over 25 years of experience of helping students to find placements. The Placement Office will help with your CV, advise on interview techniques and continue to support you whilst you are away from the University. Please note, if you opt to take the strategic life project unit instead of a dissertation, you will not be able to undertake an internship / placement, Career options after the course, The events industry is dynamic and is growing, meaning there are a multitude of sectors for you to work in across the globe. Previous graduates have gained employment in areas such as corporate events, hospitality events, sports event management, conferences, exhibitions and music festivals.
