Course Overview
Full-time MS in Accounting, Offered as a traditional, on-campus program, students complete the ms accounting courses on a full-time schedule. The program requires enrollment of at least five courses (15 credits) each semester. Undergraduate accounting degree holders can complete the program in 10 months. Undergraduate business (non-accounting) will be provisionally admitted until they have completed the following courses or equivalents with a grade of B- or better: ACCT 331, ACCT 332, ACCT 351 and ACCT 461. The pre-requisites are currently only available in-person, not online. Students required to take the prerequisite courses can complete the ms accounting program in months. Students enrolled in the program are eligible to complete their graduate degree part-time in two years. Online accounting courses will be offered in a module format (quarterly schedule) with students enrolling in two courses every 10 weeks. There is no required internship course, but students can elect to participate in an internship and receive elective credit for an approved internship. Students enrolled in accounting degree online will progress together in a cohort separate from the students in the traditional masters in accounting (full-time on-campus). Delivery of all online accounting courses will be asynchronous. In addition, all students participating in the online program will be required to complete ACCT 795: Global Accounting Environment which includes a 7-10 global residency abroad. Students will also be required to participate in the online orientation before the start of the program. We ask applicants to identify their interest in the online program during the application phase by mentioning this interest in their application essay.
